Bloomsburg Drops 77-55 Game to Edinboro

EDINBORO -- The Bloomsburg University women's basketball team lost to Edinboro on Sunday by a score of 77-55. The loss snapped a four-game winning streak for the Huskies.
The game was tight in the early going with the score tied at 10-10 after a jumper from Colleen Kegerreis (Schuylkill Haven/Schuylkill Haven) with 14:25 to play in the opening half. A few minutes later the Huskies took an 18-17 lead after a rebound basket by Monica Dennison (Zion Grove/Hazleton Area) with 9:27 to play. Edinboro then went on a 15-0 run over the next six minutes to go in front 34-18 and went into halftime leading 40-29.
In the second half, the Huskies fell behind by 16 points before a 6-0 run capped by a three-pointer from Kelsey Gallagher (East Stroudsburg/East Stroudsburg South) pulled the Huskies to within 10 points, 57-47, with 10:40 to play. The Fighting Scots though used a 17-3 run over the next seven minutes to put the game out of reach at 74-50.
Gallagher led the Huskies in scoring with 12 points, while Dennison added 11 and Kegerreis chipped in with 10. Samantha Reimer led Edinboro, 7-4, with 29 points, while Kelsey Conklin added 16.
The Huskies fall to 7-3 and will host Columbia Union on Wednesday at 6:30 p.m.
